If Your A Girl....

Things to Avoid before that Special time of the month (thanks to the How Stuff Works Article:

1. AVOID Simple sugars like white bread and sugary snacks, or you will feel bloated
2. Caffine - it makes you even more irratable
3. Salt - it will make you feel bloated and retain water
4. Alcahol, it will make you depressed

Things TO DO durring that ever dreaded time warp known as PMS

1. EAT Whole Grains and Vegetables (they help control hormonal depression)
2. TAKE your vitamins
3. EAT small meals durring the day, instead of 3 big meals.


So, you may be asking, why are you telling me this, your a dude, why do you care what women do every 28 days. BECAUSE I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!! She is not that bad, but caffeine avoidance wouldn't hurt. Actually, all of the stuff mentioned above is a good idea for men and women. In my Science of Food class, all of this stuff was mentioned and it is all true for the population as a whole. For some reason, with the massive hormonal relese in women, it only amplifies the effects. Really check out the link at the top of the page, it is quite informative, esp. for guys who have no idea why 3/4 of this stuff happens.
